When Prince first came to Covenant House Texas, he didn’t arrive with a clear roadmap, but he did come with something powerful: creativity, ambition, and a desire to build something meaningful with his life.

Today, he’s doing exactly that.

A college student pursuing a degree in Communication Design with a focus in Graphic Design, Prince is now part of the Covenant House Texas Development team as a Social Media Intern, using his talents to tell stories, create content, and contribute to the very community that supported him along the way.

A Creative Vision for the Future

Prince has always had a passion for art. From an early age, he knew he wanted to share his creativity with others whether through designing, storytelling, or building something of his own.

“I’ve always wanted to share my talents with others in some way,” he said. “Whether it’s through books or a designing career.”

That vision continues to grow. Looking ahead, Prince hopes to launch his own printing business, creating books and designs, or pursue a career as a UX/UI designer or marketing consultant combining creativity with strategy to make an impact.

Finding Support When It Mattered Most

Prince first learned about Covenant House Texas through his sister while he was in college. At the time, things at home were becoming unstable, and what once felt like a distant option quickly became something he needed to consider more seriously.

What he found at Covenant House Texas was more than a safety net—it was a place where he could regroup, refocus, and continue moving forward.

Redefining What People See

For Prince, one of the biggest misconceptions about young people experiencing homelessness is the assumption that they lack motivation or direction.

In reality, he’s seen the opposite in the community of youth at Covenant House Texas.

“Most people here actually want help and want to live a stable life,” he shared. “They’re working, going to school, and just dealing with some unforeseen circumstances.”

His perspective is a powerful reminder: the young people at Covenant House Texas are not defined by their circumstances. They are individuals with goals, talents, and the drive to build something better.

A Story Still Being Written

Prince’s journey is still unfolding, but it already reflects what restoration can look like — having the space, support, and opportunity to keep going.

From navigating uncertainty to pursuing his education and gaining real-world experience, he is building a future rooted in purpose and possibility.

And now, through his work as a Social Media Intern, he’s helping tell stories like his own — stories that remind us what can happen when young people are given the chance to move forward.
